FELIX PARTNER Architektur Design restored Villa Allungata with the aim of ensuring that the architectural identity of the building and Giò Ponti’s original design intent remain permanently evident. The project was based on a precise architectural-historical and structural analysis of the existing structure. In close coordination with Italian historic preservation authorities, elements worthy of preservation were secured, restored, and, where necessary, professionally repaired. Distinctive structural components and details were carefully reconstructed based on historical evidence, with any necessary interventions carried out with the utmost restraint. The sensitive interplay of preservation, restoration, and selective additions gave rise to an architectural concept that does not overwhelm the historic fabric but rather enhances its spatial, material, and design qualities. In this way, Villa Allungata is preserved as a historic monument in its unique character while also being secured for long-term use.
